CUTTING THE RIBBON
Approximately 50 people attended the "ribbon cutting" and transfer of ownership at the New Park Shelter on Thursday, Jun 9th. Thanks to all the Lions, Volunteers, Cities of St. Cloud/Waite Park and all the Area Businesses that made the New Lions Park Shelter a possibility.
(Top) Lion Rand Schaper, Lion Charlie Lindt, SC Council President Carolyn Garven and Park Director Prentice Foster watch SC Mayor John Ellenbecker "cut the ribbon" . (Bottom) Attendees listen to Lions Charlie Lindt and Jim Muellenbach's presentation.
NEIGHBORHOOD CELEBRATES NEW SHELTER:
The Anguishire Meadows Community (adjacent to the Park Shelter) and their invited guests held a picnic at the New Park Shelter on Sat, Jun 4th. In addition to a wonderful "potluck" meal, they presented the Lions with a check in the amount of $560 which they had accumulated with a collection among themselves in appreciation for the Lions project. They asked that the money be used for "Lions' Park Amenities" at the Shelter. Will do!
It was a rainy day, and the design of the shelter worked great! The Overhead Doors let in lots of light...and kept the rain out. We even used the white panels of the door to show a short presentation of photos taken during the construction.
(Top)Attendees enjoy potluck picnic provide by the Angushire Meadows Homeowners.(Bottom) Lions presented with check from Angushire Meadows Homeowners Association.
